Studio Sill with Matisse Sculpture
This painting is a still life I arranged on my studio window sill. Included in the arrangement is a reclining nude statue by Henri Matisse. I don't actually own the statue, but I thought it would be a good tribute to the fauvist style of this piece. The cobalt blue under painting adds a cooling, soft glow to all of the objects arranged on the window. I love the idea of painting a window view. It is like adding an extra window in your home, only this window is a view into my own little world. I hope you like the view.
