Still Life with Roses
 
Another 3AM painting. Something about 3AM that is a magic number for me - I feel so free at this time! This is a painting of my desk. The only light available was the light from my little rod iron lamp which illuminated the collection of objects littered about. Included in the painting is the lamp, an envelope, a 60's rotary phone, the beautiful roses my husband bought for me, a stapler, and a cup full of pencils. The roses were meant to be painted.They were vibrant when they were represented, but the very next morning they departed this earth - happy to have caught their beauty in time!
