"Spanish Still Life with Gold Quilt" is a unique, dramatic piece! It is inspired by "Spanish Still Life" by Matisse. In my rendition, I have added a dramatic floral wallpaper and a blue quilt with 18kt gold leaf. When placed at a different angle, the gold leaf shines - thereby adding interest to the piece from various angles. The Gold is the only mutually exclusive color on this painting. Every color found in each element is repeated somewhere throughout the painting at least once. By doing this, The eye is kept in constant motion, gauranteed to keep you staring! This piece is brought to life with the myriad of patterns that are simultaneously complementary as well as contrasting.
