This weekend's excursion to Mount Rainier National Park. I braved the winding cliffside roads by myself and three hour drive all the way to Paradise point. Paradise was still covered in snow, so it took a while to find the perfect spot. What an ominous river! I hiked down to the bottom and positioned the easel amongst the rocks close to the rage. I was all alone and it did not take long to get lost in the painting. Standing up and taking one last look, I noticed about a couple of blocks off down the river was an entire family of bears! One of them stopped midway to take a peek at me. I was sure I was done for. I quickly packed up and walked as quickly as I could out of view. One of those close call moments!
