My first painting after moving to Seattle. As most of you already know, I derive my inspiration from not just the things and places around me - but the people as well.

In this piece, two women gossip over coffee and smoke openly. The talkative one seems to have quite a bit to say! Her friend in the blue hat is very quiet. Perhaps not everyone is prone to gossip or maybe her friend has said too much! This piece is tied together with color and story. The thick sides of the canvas are in a quiet shade of sage that I have been working on for some time.

Much like the colors that tie this piece together, so too are people connected. So if you gossip, be well aware that your subject of scrutiny already knows ~ and knows quite well!
